If you’re heading to school in September, we encourage you to bring your bike so you can participate in all of the cycling activities UCycle has planned at participating schools. Not sure where to store your bike? We’ve prepared a quick summary of the bike parking options available for students living on and off campus. Click here to view our summary table (PDF). For those living in residence, Lakehead University, the University of Windsor, Western University, the University of Waterloo, McMaster University, and Sheridan College all offer a limited number of spaces in their indoor bike rooms. When it comes to secure bike parking for students living off-campus, McMaster is leading the way. They offer 48 spaces for rent in their secure parking area ($5/term) and 28 bike lockers ($40/semester or $100/year). Waterloo and Western also offer a limited number of bike lockers on campus. Looking to protect your bike from the elements? The Lakehead University Student Union (LUSU) provides students with free 24/7 access to the “Bike Shack”. This building can store up to 172 bikes. The University of Windsor has recently installed 32 bike parking spaces under a bike shelter on campus, which will keep your bike nice and dry while you study. Although not every campus has secure and covered parking, all 8 campuses do offer bike racks around campus. McMaster, Trent, Queen’s, Western, and Sheridan offer online maps of their bike rack locations. Click on the campus name to find the map. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more campus cycling news and event updates. See you in September.
